Sunshine

Ya ya, so it's been a while since I posted on this ol' thing. Well, yesterday was our two year wedding anniversary! And what an amazing two years it's been! I look forward to many years to come with my handsome husband. Marriage is a wonderful thing. What did we do to celebrate? Well we celebrated all weekend and into this week!

Friday night, we drove out to the airport and walked on the walkway. We love doing this. You can walk right under the landing jets! The sound is so loud and the planes are so huge, it's radical. We had to run to the gate at 7pm because they automatically lock the gate at that time. We didn't want to be locked in although it would make for a good story. On Saturday, we drove up Sardine Canyon around 10am. Saturday was such a spectacular day! The sun was shining and we sported our sunglasses all day. There was actually a point when we took off our jackets and rolled down the windows! Halle-freakin-lulia! We saw a moose on the way up Blacksmith Fork Canyon and I caught a picture of it! The mountains were glistening with snow and pine trees. (Yes, pine trees glisten) There is a stream leading all the way up the canyon and a couple ponds here and there from the gathered water. We made our way up the canyon about 25 miles to our destination: Hardware Ranch! This is such an awesome place to go when you feel like you need to get away. There were 600 elk on the ranch that day. We went on a sleigh ride through the snowy fields where we were up close and personal with the elk! They feed the elk in the mornings with fresh green hay in able to keep them around, although they don't force them to stay on the ranch. They come to the ranch on their own and can leave whenever they please. Naturally, they arrive the week in October when the hunt starts and leave when the snow melts. I highly recommend this place. Then we went home and had our very own Luau. Well, more like we ate Hawaiian haystacks and pina colada smoothies and watched 50 first dates. We're a bunch of weirdos, but we have a ball. Yesterday was our actual anniversary. We took the day off work and enjoyed the sun! We went on a bike ride to the park to play tennis. Old school. Welp, see ya later!
